Consultations
Whether you are looking for a cut, style, or chemical consultation, they are always complimentary; however we take our chemical consultations VERY seriously.

The following information is important to know if you are a client receiving one or more chemical services:
CHEMICAL history and the use of medications must be divulged when consulting with your stylist. If you are currently under the care of an MD, it is YOUR responsibility to research if color/chemical services are compatible with any prescription medication or cancer treatment which you are currently being treated with, or have used prior to your appointment.  Your stylist is not a trained medical physician.

DOES THIS APPLY TO ME?
BELOW is a list of items to address with your stylist prior to your appointment – as these items may cause negative chemical reactions to the hair when mixed with salon chemicals services.

    • Previously over-processed hair* by repeatedly layering dyes over porous pre-lightened hair
    • Taking prescription medication* that inadvertently alters the bonds of the hair (methotrexate, sulfa based medications)
    • Thermal damage* by over-use of hot tools
    • Use of metallic dyes, salts, or minerals* (box color) or use of “over mineralized well water” chemicals may cause negative reaction to lightening services
    • Use of henna or vegetable dyes* chemicals may cause negative reaction to lightening services
    • Permed or relaxed hair* chemicals may cause negative reaction to lightening services
    • Hormonal Changes* if you are pregnant, breast feeding, pre-menopausal, etc.

IT IS OUR PRIORITY TO CONDUCT THOROUGH CONSULTATIONS FOR ALL SERVICES PROVIDED THRU THE SALON, HOWEVER IT IS EACH CLIENT’S PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY TO BE UPFRONT AND HONEST ABOUT THEIR HAIR HISTORY AND TO RESEARCH THE ITEMS LISTED ABOVE*
ANY DAMAGE CAUSED TO THE HAIR AS A RESULT OF UNDIVULGED INFORMATION DURING THE CONSULTATION IS NOT THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE STYLIST OR THE SALON

Appointments
Alfredo Ray Salon often runs on a tight schedule so in order to ensure the best possible service, we highly recommend arriving at the salon about 10 minutes prior to your appointment time as well as booking your next appointment prior to leaving the salon so that we can be sure to accommodate your schedule.
As a courtesy, we strive to call all our clients to reconfirm appointments but please be advise Alfredo Ray Salon respectfully requests 24-hours’ notice of cancellation or rebooking of all appointments. We understand that life happens, but anything less than that results in lost income and opportunity as we often have a waiting list. Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice will be invoiced for the entire service amount. Thank you in advance for your consideration and understanding.

Payment
Alfredo Ray Salon accepts Cash, Visa, and MasterCard on services and products. Gratuities are cash only.

Children
Alfredo Ray Salon is a boutique style salon with chemicals and dangerous implements, and as such, it is not conducive to the energy of young children, nor is it set up to keep them entertained. If you do need to bring a child under the age of 12 to your appointment, the child must be supervised by someone other than yourself. The policy is in place to keep your child safe and for the consideration of both our clients and stylists, we appreciate your compliance.

Pets
In accordance with the New York State Board of Cosmetology, Section 11 (i) no animals, pets shall be in any barbershop or hairdressing shop. This prohibition does not apply to trained guide dogs (or dogs in training) for the disabled, sightless, or hearing impaired. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Cell Phones
Please refrain from making and taking calls in the salon, though feel free to text or email. Bear in mind, we are simultaneously styling many clients in an intimate space and want to be cognizant and respectful of clients who may not want to listen to calls during their appointments.

Personal Items
Alfredo Ray Salon cannot be held responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged items.

Refunds
Due to the artistic nature of what we do, we cannot offer refunds on services performed. However, we will happily redo your hair at no charge within 10 days of original service. If you are unsatisfied with any products purchased, we will happily exchange items for Salon credit or another item within 7 days of original purchase
